Here are the details of the East London Community ENT Clinic provided by Lower Clapton Group Practice
- The service is run and delivered by Dr Dominic Roberts (GPWSI) and Mr Nick Eynon Lewis (Consultant ENT). Four clinics are held each week at Lower Clapton Group Practice
- The East London Community ENT Clinic is open to patients over the age of 18 years for the conditions listed below.

Referral
- To refer a patient to the service, Click on ELIC ENT Triage Service on Choose & Book. We cannot take paper referrals into the service.
Where to find us on Choose and Book:
- Select the “Ear, Nose and Throat” section
- Select and refer to the “ELIC ENT Triage Service”
- All referrals will be triaged into the ELIC clinic or onto secondary care as appropriate (and according to any patient choice identified in the referral letter)
- NB: Please don’t refer to the “ELIC ENT GPwSI & Consultant Service”, please put all referrals through the “ELIC ENT Triage service”.
- NB: We are in the process of changing the Name of the clinic on the Choose and book service and will email practices when this happens.
Conditions that can be seen in this service:
- Recurrent tonsillitis – we can list for surgery at the Homerton
- Otitis externa – chronic/recurrent or acute
- Chronic suppurative otitis media
- Otalgia/ear pain
- Recurrent otitis media
- Wax impaction – for micro-suction
- Mastoid cavity f/u
- Hearing loss – unilateral or bilateral
- Tinnitus
- Vertigo/BPPV/Menieres
- Throat discomfort / globus sensation
- Nasal obstruction/allergic rhinitis/ nasal polyps
- Nasal septal deviation – direct access to surgical listing at Homerton
- Snoring
- Recurrent epistaxis
- Chronic hoarse voice/voice disturbance (not fitting urgent cancer referral pathway) – Mr Eynon-Lewis has a special interest in voice disorders
- Chronic/recurrent sinusitis
Exclusions to referring to the East London Community ENT Clinic are:
- Under 16 yr olds
- Urgent cancer referrals
- Acute fracture of the nose requiring surgical manipulation – refer direct to Barts Emergency ENT clinic (corrective surgery must be done within 3 weeks of the injury)
- Neck lumps
The following procedures are also carried out by the GPwSI:
- Nasendoscopy and Laryngoscopy
- Nasal cautery with silver nitrate
- Anterior and posterior rhinoscopy
- Ear microscopy and microsuction
- Basic screening, pure tone audiometry and tympanometry
